3 Degrees of Separation

1) Robert McNamara was Secretary of Defence from 1961 to 1968.
2) McGeorge Bundy was National Security Advisor from 1961 to 1966.
3) McGeorge’s son, Will, was my landlord when I lived at Eastworks in Easthampton, MA.

OK - I guess. But there is little connection between Bundy and Macnamara, other than they were both assholes and both SecDef.

So it ain't exactly like the Kevin Bacon game. I bet somebody would challenge you on that.

There was a big connection between Bundy and McNamara! They were close friends and they both were key in planning and initiating the Vietnam War. Bundy was never Secretary of Defence--he was National Security Advisor for Kennedy and Johnson. He and McNamara worked together closely. I'd say they had a lot closer relationship than I did with Will Bundy (although I saw Will very frequently--his office was in Eastworks and he was friendly with all his tenants).
